It is believed that Mir Zamin Ali constructed this mosque under the patronage of the then Nawab of Bengal and the Governor of Cuttack, Mir Asharaf Ali Khan Bahadur. The mosque has a huge white dome that is visible from a long distance. The intricate floral designs on the false ceiling are its main attraction. Inside, it has five prayer halls, three in the front and two in the courtyard. Visitors get to enjoy the wonderful architecture and decoration inside.
