Devi Temple and Mound is a Hindu temple located in the town of Masan near Gurgaon in the Indian state of Haryana. Originally the temple was located atop a mound (or kavar) made of ancient ruins. The mound is believed to be over 1500 years old and is one of the oldest surviving Hindu temples in the region. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Masan, who is an incarnation of Goddess Durga. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple complex includes a complex of two lingams: the primary lingam being of Shiva, and the secondary one being in the form of the nine ganas of Shiva, the nava-lingams. The temple complex also includes a stone figurine of Ganesha and numerous ancient sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.
