Brief History:
The Salmaniya Mosque in Bahrain is a large Shia Mosque located in the Salmaniya district of Manama, Bahrain. It was built in 1529 and is home to some of the holiest sites in Shia Islam. The mosque is believed to have been named after the late Sheikh Salman bin Hafidh, who served the Abbasid Caliphate in the 16th century and died there in 1529, rebuilding the mosque afterwards. The mosque is famous for its golden dome, which is the largest and most ornate in the country. It was also the first mosque built in Bahrain and includes various historical artifacts from the 16th century, including a tablet inscribed with excerpts from the Qur’an. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bahrain which you must visit.

The Salmaniya Mosque in Bahrain is described as a traditional Arabic mosque gleaming with golden domes, colorful minarets, and a stunning blue and white façade. The mosque stands out against the city skyline, represents the merging of heritage with modernity; the mosque has a unique design that blends traditional Arabian and Islamic architectural elements with more modern designs. The mosque has two minarets, a dome in the middle, and four smaller domes at the corners, giving it an overall octagonal shape. The facades of the mosque are clad with intricately decorated glazed ceramic tiles and finished with an intricate plasterwork. The interior of the mosque is just as impressive as the exterior. The floor is inlaid with black and white geometric marble motifs, the walls are decorated with a beautifully detailed mihrab and colored glass windows, and the ceiling is adorned with stars of gold and blue. The mosque also has an impressive collection of Quranic Scriptures. The Salmaniya Mosque is a beautiful example of Bahrain's Islamic and Arabic architectural heritage and is a great reminder of the importance of traditional values and customs.
