Brief History:
Al Hajar Mosque is one of Bahrain’s oldest mosques and is located in the city of Manama. The mosque was first built in the 13th century (1288 AD) but was rebuilt and restored in the 20th century. The original structure of the mosque still stands, and includes a large prayer hall and a minaret. The mosque is considered to be the most important and oldest mosque in Bahrain, and is visited by locals and tourists alike. There are a number of Islamic traditions that surround the mosque, including the use of a special prayer room for women, and the opportunity to view the city’s skyline from the mosque’s rooftop terrace. Al Hajar Mosque is a mosque located in Bahrain. The mosque has a traditional Islamic architecture and was constructed in the late eighteenth century. The mosque was built around a square courtyard with a dome at its centre. The courtyard is enclosed by four high, thick walls which act as buffers against sand storms and other natural elements. The mosque is also known for its intricately carved wooden doors, stained glass windows, and mosaics. The walls are also decorated with crescents, star patterns and arches. The interior of the mosque is beautifully decorated with marble and intricate mosaics. The dome of the mosque is ornamented with artwork depicting Qur’anic verses and beautiful arabesque patterns. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
The Al Hajar Mosque is open to visitors every day from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. The mosque is closed during prayer times and no permission is allowed to visit during prayer times. best mosque in the world.

It is located about 9.5 km east of Manama and is about a 20 minute drive. Alternatively, public buses are available to Al Hajar from bus stops in Manama.
