Brief History:

Saar Mosque is a mosque in the city of Saar in the northern part of Bahrain. It is one of the oldest mosques in this small island country. The mosque was built during the reign of Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa in 1640 AD. The mosque underwent major renovation during the Azerbaijani rule in Bahrain, and again in 1999, its minaret was renovated and its dome was reconstructed. Architecture:

The Saar Mosque in Bahrain was built in 2008 and is a modern, modern Islamic center located in the northern town of Saar. The mosque features a unique design, combining modern and traditional Islamic elements, with a focus on providing its occupants with a spiritual and tranquil environment. The mosque is a two-story rectangular building with eight entrances and a central atrium. Its design is based on traditional Islamic motifs like geometric patterns, arcades and minarets. The mosque has two large prayer halls on the ground floor, each with its own dedicated ablution area. The prayer hall is divided by a central open-plan space which is used for lectures and other activities. On the first floor, the mosque includes a library and a small museum. The external façade of the mosque is constructed out of natural stone materials in a combination of light and sand-colored beige shades. Large arches and domes dominate the façade, with the golden-painted ribbons at the entrance providing a contrast. Large windows made up of stained-glass panels also adorn the façade, as well as small panes of colorful glass adding variety to the overall design. The interior of the mosque is painted in bright colors, and has a combination of wooden elements and wall decorations. Visiting Hours:

The official visiting hours of the Saar Mosque in Bahrain are from 8:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday through Thursday. On Fridays, the mosque is closed until 1:00pm. During this time, visitors are asked to dress conservatively, avoid using phones and cameras inside the mosque, and to cover the head for ladies.
