Brief History:
Zallaq Mosque in Bahrain is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, just west of Manama. It was built in the early 1990s and is the largest mosque in Bahrain, accommodating up to 20,000 worshippers. The mosque features an impressive interior with intricate designs and decorations that combine both traditional and modern elements. Zallaq Mosque has a unique blend of Bahraini traditional and modern architecture, and it is equipped with some of the most advanced state-of-the-art technology. The mosque’s minarets are surrounded by four grand arches, while its impressive central dome stands 50 meters tall. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bahrain which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Zallaq Mosque is a historic mosque in Bahrain that was built during the Fatimid period in the 10th century. It is a large, two-story building featuring distinctive Islamic architectural features such as a minbar, mihrab, and two turrets. The mosque has a unique design, with a large central dome, two smaller domes, and four wings. The mosque walls are constructed from stone and the windows are decorated with carved stucco. The interior is decorated with multiple columns, arches, and intricate plaster and tile work. The outer walls of the mosque feature intricate geometric designs and inscriptions, as well as Quranic passages. The main prayer hall is connected to the two turrets which were used as minarets and were used to call prayers at dawn. The Zallaq Mosque is a rare example of a Fatimid-era mosque and is a national landmark in Bahrain. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The prayer timings at the Al-Areen Palace & Spa, Zallaq Mosque, Bahrain are as follows: Friday Prayer - 12:30 pm Saturday to Wednesday Prayer - 7:00 am and 10:15 am Visiting hours for the mosque are 9:00 am to 11:00 am, daily. best mosque in the world.
