Architecture:

The mosque sits on a hill overlooking Muharraq Island and is built in the shape of two triangles. The mosque is characterized by its cylindrical minarets with onion and conical tops, reminiscent of a style found in Damascus and Aleppo. The minarets stand atop the two triangular prayer halls and are connected in the middle by a lofty, zigzagged dome covered in white roof tiles. This dome gives the mosque an air of grandeur that clashes with the simple and static exterior. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
