: Al-Farook Mosque in Bahrain is one of the oldest mosques in the Middle East. It is located in Muharraq Island and was built in 1393 by Sultan Hassan ibn Ahmad al-Khalili. The mosque houses the grave of Ahmed al-Farook, one of the notable figures in the history of Bahrain. He was a Sufi mystic and leader from the Dhawali people of the Arabian Peninsula who made a significant contribution to religious and cultural life in Bahrain. He is credited with the introduction of new religious practices and the translation of books on Islam into Arabic. The mosque underwent renovations and enlargements over the years and is a popular destination for religious activities. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bahrain which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al-Farook Mosque in Bahrain is an example of modern contemporary Islamic architecture. The mosque was designed by architect Saeed Mekki in 2007. The white marble building is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has two minarets on either side of the main entrance, which feature geometric patterns. Inside, the mosque has a spacious prayer hall filled with natural light, a grand dome, and several other domes. The minarets house the call to prayer.
