Brief History:
: is a historical mosque located in Ambur, Tamil Nadu. It was built in the 15th century by the Pathan rulers of the region. The mosque is noted for its majestic architecture and serves as an important spiritual and cultural site in the city. Its architecture and structure are distinct from other mosques in the region and every Friday at the mosque the Jummah Namaz is held. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Shahi Masjid in Ambur was constructed in the 16th century by the Vellore Nawab in Mughal style. It is built of red stone and brick and has three arched entrances on the east, south and west sides. There is an interesting feature in the interior design of the mosque, with the mihrab (the prayer niche) depicting Hindu motifs of Shahi architecture. The central prayer hall has five galleries and the ceiling is supported by eight elegant pillars. There are four minarets that are carved with intricate designs, and the domes are adorned with blue glazed tiles. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Shahi Masjid in Ambur is one of the most sacred and visited mosques in India, hence the visiting hours are flexible. Generally, the visitors are allowed to visit from sunrise to sunset. However, the mosque administration also keeps the doors open for late-night visitors. The administration also leaves some extra time during Friday prayer if you want to come late. Following are the specific timings details: Monday to Sunday: Sunrise-Sunset Friday: Sunrise-Sunset and Afternoon Prayer (4 PM to 7 PM) best mosque in the world.
