Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort Mosque in Bahrain is an historic mosque which features a unique hybrid-style architecture. The mosque was built in the 17th century and is made entirely of coral limestone, mortar, and plaster. It has a central courtyard surrounded by four minarets and a large dome in the center. The four minarets each have two stories and are topped off with onion domes. The central dome, built in the traditional Persian style, is surrounded by seven smaller domes. The interior of the mosque features ornately decorated arches, carved stone pillars, and stucco walls. The mosque also features two contrasting minarets, one in the early Ottoman-style and one in the later Baroque-style, which draws attention to the mosque’s unique history and cultural influences. The Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort Mosque is open to visitors daily from 09:00 am to 11:30 am. During this period, the mosque opens its doors to non-Muslim visitors, allowing them to view the stunning interiors and exterior of the historical monument.
