Brief History:
Al Juffair Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Bahrain and was built around 1845. The mosque was built by a local sheikh, Sayed Ali Bin Humud Al Khalifa, and served as the main house of worship for the people of the town of Juffair. The mosque features traditional Arab architecture, including a large courtyard and a four-pillared Shafriya (prayer house). Inside the mosque, there are exquisitely decorated walls, with intricate patterns and carvings made of different materials, including marble, limestone, and teak wood. The mosque also houses a small library that contains ancient manuscripts and books on Islamic studies. Every Friday morning, the grand muezzin - the official caller of Islamic congregational prayers - can be seen performing his duties from the minaret. The prayer hall of the mosque is separated into three sections for men and women, with colorful Oriental carpets and chandeliers.
