Kuskovo Estate is a former 18th-century summer residence of the Sheremetev family located in the south-east of Moscow, Russia. History:

Kuskovo Estate is one of the most popular and historically important estates in Russia. It dates back to the 18th century, when it was owned by Count Sheremetev, one of the richest and most powerful families of the Russian aristocracy. In 1717, Count Pyotr Borisovich Sheremetev inherited the estate from his father, Boris Fyodorovich Sheremetev, and made it one of the leading cultural centers of Moscow with its luxurious Park. Kuskovo was expanded and modernized by several of the Sheremetev family members over the years. An Italian-built Church of the Assumption was added in 1795, and other additions included the Grand Mansion and the Maze Garden. The estate covered approximately 600 hectares and included a menagerie of exotic animals, greenhouses, and a theater. The estate was an important cultural center of Russia, hosting some of the most prominent writers, musicians, and artists of the time. It also became a model for similar estates throughout the country. In the late 19th century, Kuskovo Estate was nationalized and opened to the public. In 1913 it became a branch of the Russian Museum, establishing itself as one of the first open-air museums of its kind. After the Soviet Revolution, the estate was acquired by a trust and later by Moscow government.
