The Al Munisife South East Mosque in Oman is one of the few grand classical mosques still standing in the country. It is characterized by the Arabian-Andalusian architectural style, with a square courtyard surrounded by four large white-washed walls. At the center of the mosque stands a large chandelier-style dome, which is built over the Mihrab. This is flanked on the east and west sides by two minarets, which are capped with domes decorated with geometric designs and inscriptions. The courtyard itself is framed by tall arched doorways, which open onto the main prayer area. Inside, the space is divided into two parts by ornate wooden columns, with an altar in between. The walls on the interior are also painted white and adorned with Islamic art. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
