It is a form of a large Beo-Saracenic prayer hall with a green dome made of Murshidabad bricks and terracotta. Tipu Sultan Mosque, located in Kolkata, India, is a premier example of a Mughal-style mosque. It was built in 1832 by Prince Ghulam Muhammad, the son of Tipu Sultan, a ruler of Mysore in the late 18th century. The mosque has a typical Mughal-style rectangular design, with the main dome resting atop four smaller domes. It has a series of narrow openings along the base in which seven stone-carved arches can be seen. There are two large minarets flanking the mosque, while the facade features an array of carved floral decorations. The entire mosque is built of brick, with lime plaster and stuccoed walls. The mosque also contains an array of luxurious marble and sandstone inlays and decorations, featuring geometric patterns, Arabic calligraphy, and floral designs. The mosque's interior is adorned with intricate wooden fretwork, chandeliers, and intricate marble and mosaic flooring. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
