. Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah, also known as Ganj Dakhana Dargah, is a Sufi shrine located in the city of Mumbai, India. This dargah was built in honor of the great Sufi scholar and teacher, Hazrat Khwaja Bande Nawaz, who was born in 1238 in Bukhara, Central Asia. After dedicating his life to teaching of divine truth, Khwaja Bande Nawaz passed away in 1397 AD and his shrine was constructed by his followers in his memory. It has an elaborate structure which includes a mausoleum, a mosque, courtyards, and shrines for his disciples. The main structure of the dargah is made of white marble and is constructed in a traditional Mughal architectural style. There is a large central dome which is propped up by four corner domes. The entrance of the dargah is reached by a short flight of stairs leading to a row of arches. To the left of the arches is an imposing marble façade, also known as the qibla (direction faced when praying). The courtyard of the dargah also has a number of shrines dedicated to Khwaja Bande Nawaz’s disciples. There is a large tree in the courtyard, known as Baba Sahab’s Tree, which is said to have healing powers. Visitors to the dargah gather around this tree to make their prayers.
