Brief History:

The Shahi Masjid in Gonda, India is one of the historical monuments in Uttar Pradesh. This mosque was built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century. The mosque is known for its beautiful architectural style. It has two minarets made of brick and stone, and the roof of the mosque is supported by pillars and arches. The interior of the mosque is decorated with glazed tiles, marble and jali work. The walls are painted in a typical Mughal style. The building also has a dome which is covered with gold-plated tiles. The mosque also has an open courtyard which has a lot of trees, plants and flowers. The mosque was built to commemorate the victory of the Mughal Empire in the Battle of Panipat in 1556 against the Hindu forces of Raja Hargobind Singh and the Maha Raja of Gonda. The Shahi Masjid, located in the city of Gonda of Uttar Pradesh, India, is one of the most popular religious monuments in the country. It was built in 1714, by a local governor Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. The monument is an important landmark of the city and is visited by many tourists each year. The mosque is located inside a garden complex and it has three grand gates. The central domed prayer hall has octagonal shaped pillars and is supported by seven minarets. The mosque is open for public viewing from sunrise to sunset and no dress code is required. It is advisable to be appropriately dressed while visiting Shahi Masjid. Traveling to Shahi Masjid is easy as the nearest airport is the Babatpur Airport, about 70 km away. The closest railway station is the Gonda Junction, less than 5 km away.
