Brief History:

Memon Mosque, Indore is a prominent religious place for the Muslim population of the city of Indore in India. The mosque was built in 1948 by the Memon community, a prosperous trading family originally from Kutch, Gujarat who helped foster commerce in Indore in the mid-20th century. Embodying the traditional Memon architecture, the mosque is an important example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture blended with Islamic tradition. The mosque is among the oldest and most majestic mosques in the city and a common landmark on the city landscape. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.

Architecture:

The Memon Mosque located in Indore, India is a unique Indo-Islamic structure. The mosque was designed by noted architect Hafez Patel and is constructed in a distinct architectural style. The primary features of the mosque are its domes and minarets. The mosque is built on a raised plinth and has two large and five small white domes, as well as four tall white minarets. The façade of the mosque is decorated with intricate carvings and the top of the minarets are designed in the shape of a lotus. The interiors of the mosque features Islamic calligraphy and geometric designs. The exact date of construction of the mosque is not known but it is believed to have been built during the 20th century. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
