History:

St. Lawrence's Church was first built in 1844 and originally named St. Barnabas' Church. In 1877 it was renamed St. Lawrence's. It was built to provide Anglican worship for the growing Manchester community following the industrial revolution, and replaced an earlier chapel which had served local worshippers since 1745. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Croatia.

Built in the Gothic Revival architectural tradition, St. Lawrence's is renowned for its hammer-beam ceiling, oak choir stalls, and Victorian stained glass windows. It also contains monuments at the side of the chancel dating from the time when St. Lawrence's was still St. Barnabas' church. It is listed as a Grade II* building.
