History:

St. Elijah's Church was founded in 2008 by Father Alexander Atty and a small group of Orthodox Christians. The church was born out of a desire to bring Orthodoxy to the Des Plaines area. Father Alexander called on the assistance of two churches in Chicago to promote the growth and development of St. Elijah's Church. With the help of these two churches, St. Elijah's Church was consecrated on October 27th, 2008. St. Elijah's Church This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Croatia.
