Brief History:
Al Sakhir Mosque is one of the largest mosques in Bahrain and a symbol of national pride. The mosque dates back to the mid-19th century, when it was built by an Omani merchant. The mosques’ minarets and four domes are constructed in the traditional Islamic style, and its walls are adorned with beautiful marble carvings and metalwork. The mosque is also surrounded by a lush garden full of flowers and palms. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bahrain which you must visit.

The Al Sakhir Mosque in Bahrain is noted for its unique architecture and design. The architecture of the mosque is based on traditional Islamic design, with a large dome and minarets. The main entrance is through a decorated portico with four arches, and leads to a large marble-tiled prayer hall. The prayer hall can accommodate up to 1,500 worshipers and is supported by two aisles of columns, reaching a total height of 40 metres. It is elaborately decorated with a variety of geometric patterns, mother of pearl plaques, and Islamic calligraphy. Additionally, the mosque has multiple smaller domes as well as several minarets, reaching up to 43 meters in height. The walls of the mosque are adorned with intricate stucco, marble, and ceramics, and the floors are covered with carpet and marble. Finally, the entrance is framed by a large bronze arch made of five rings. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
