History:

The Residenzgalerie salzburg is located in the Schloss Mirabell in Salzburg, Austria. It is a museum founded in 1979 and was originally located in the Neuen Residenz, which is an 18th-century palace in the historic old town of Salzburg. The gallery has since been transferred to the Schloss Mirabell, a baroque palace, built in the late 18th century and located across the Salzach River. The Residenzgalerie Salzburg as it known today was opened in 1979 by the provincial government in Upper Austria.
