Karlskirche (Saint Charles Church) is a Baroque church located on the south side of Vienna, Austria. It is one of the most important religious buildings in the city, and one of its most recognizable landmarks. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

History:

The church was built in 1715 by Austrian architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. It was commissioned by Emperor Charles VI to mark the end of the plague in Vienna. The building was constructed in the shape of a Greek cross, with a central dome above it. It was intended to be used for Christian worship and Catholic ceremonies. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.
