Baptist Union In Austria: History,Facts, & Services

The Baptist Union of Great Britain is an association of Baptist churches that exists to serve and support those churches. The Union has its roots in the formation of the Baptist Missionary Society in 1792. The Union consists of churches of all sizes and locations. It has had a major role in influencing and supporting churches in the UK and internationally. The Baptist Union of Great Britain seeks to provide support and unity for all its affiliated churches. It works to promote worship, service, evangelism and global mission. It also supports local churches’ work in the wider community, as well as academic study of the Bible and theology. The Union issues policies and guidelines to which churches should aspire. The Union holds annual meetings of its denomination, the Baptist Assembly, which takes place in May of each year. Representatives from all of the Baptist churches come together to discuss the issues facing the Union and address ongoing concerns. In addition, the Union organizes a yearly Conference of Christian Ministries that offers support and pastoral care for ministers of all denominations. Finally, the Union offers a range of services, such as objective advice, training and counseling, and helps in running events like baptisms and weddings. It also supports ministries for children and young people.
