Brief History:

Haci Bayram Mosque is located in Ankara, Turkey. It is one of the oldest surviving mosques in Ankara. It was built in the late 15th century by the renowned architect Hayrettin. The mosque contains a mixture of architectural styles including Ottoman and Seljuk. Inside, there is a courtyard surrounded by four chambers and a large wooden prayer niche. The exterior of the mosque is made of finely dressed stone, adorned with blue and green faience. This has been a major mosque in Ankara for over 600 years. The mosque is an important landmark that is said to have been visited by Mohamed himself. It is one of the most famous mosque in Turkey which you must visit.

Architecture:

Haci Bayram Mosque is an Anatolian Seljuq era mosque located in Ankara, Turkey. It is one of the city’s landmark monuments and was built in the early 15th century. The mosque is the product of an intricate blend of Ottoman, Timurid, and Seljuq red brick architecture. The mosque consists of a rectangular prayer hall pointed towards Mecca with a wide main portal in the east and three aisles on each side. There is also a small courtyard in the southern side. The minaret is located in the western corner of the mosque and is a combination of four cylinders connected to a single round one at the top. The mosque's interior is composed of red and white marble decorated with faience inscriptions. The walls of the mosque are decorated with figural tiles from the Ottoman period. The ceiling is composed of several plaster-covered wood beams arranged in a twofold pattern adorned with Quranic inscriptions. The mihrab is made of marble inlaid with faience. The mihrab is further decorated with white and blue tiles from the Ottoman period. The Haci Bayram Mosque is a noteworthy Ottoman monument. Its intricate blend of styles reflects the vitality of Mediterranean and Anatolian cultures during the 15th Century. It is a testament to the power of the Ottomans in preserving their architectural heritage in the face of advances in styles and design. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
