Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque is a historic mosque located in the heart of Istanbul, Turkey. Named for its builder, Mustafa Pasha, Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque was built in 1517 as a gesture of gratitude. Located close to the Grand Bazaar, the mosque is an integral part of Istanbul’s architecture. The mosque is a splendid example of early Ottoman Islamic art. Its columns and domes are exemplary of the influence of various Islamic architectural styles prevalent in the 16thcentury. The beautiful architectural features display a blend of the traditional Islamic and the contemporary Ottoman art and is considered to be among the oldest mosques in the city. The mosque’s interior features an abundance of Islamic art with decorative paintings, interspersed with intricate calligraphy, creating an impression that is both majestic and divine. Architecture:

Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Turkey was built in the 15th century AD during the Ottoman period. The exterior of the building is decorated with a classical Ottoman architecture characterized by typical pointed minarets, a central dome, and a large walled courtyard. Internally, the mosque is split into the main prayer space and two side chambers in which worshippers can sit and listen to a sermon. The main hall of the mosque is marked by ornate geometric designs of muqarnas, a type of architectural ornamentation popular in the Islamic world during this time, as well as a calligraphy based on the Koran. The mosque is also adorned with marble and glazed tiles. The building is protected by a Conservation Status of Historic Landmark, placed by the Turkish government in 1989. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
