is a historical mosque in the city of Dezful in Khuzestan Province, Iran. It is one of the oldest and most important mosques of the south west of Iran. It was the place where Saladin, the great Muslim leader of the 12th century, held his prayer sessions. The mosque is thought to have been constructed in the 11th century, though some date it to the early 9th century. It has been rebuilt multiple times, including once after an earthquake in 1771. The mosque is well known for its enormous rihla, which stands at 102 metres in length and 35 metres in width. It has two minarets on both sides of the rihla and two further minarets at the eastern and western entrances. The roof of the mosque is composed of more than 400 small palm-shape domes. The mosque is also known for its exquisite tile work; its walls are covered with Quranic verses, Nur al-Din Zangi’s verses on Al-Quds, and detailed paintings of Adam and Eve.
