Overview:
The Qutub Shahi Masjid, located in Golconda, Hyderabad, India is a 16th-century mosque which was built by the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Constructed in the Indo-Islamic architectural style, the mosque is a stunning example of the historic Indo-Islamic architectural splendor. It is the first and oldest mosque to be built in the city of Golconda, and has become a significant tourist attraction in Hyderabad. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Qutub Shahi Masjid is characterized by a marble façade and a pointed dome, along with four minarets and a multi-arched entrance. It is a two-floor structure with a prayer hall and a courtyard to accommodate large crowds for worship. The mosque also has a beautiful carved marble staircase which leads to the roof, from where one can get a clear view of the entire city.
