Uggar Sain’s Baoli In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
Sain’s Baoli is an ancient stepwell located in New Delhi, India. It was built by the medieval Delhi ruler Uggar Sain and is believed to be one of the oldest stepwells in the city. The stepwell is said to be about five stories in depth and has been beautifully decorated with intricate carvings on the walls and pillars. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Uggar Sain’s Baoli is a unique stepwell with its stone-cut steps and ornate balconies. These balconies were believed to have served as a resting place for travellers and merchants. In addition, the top of the well houses a pavilion where visitors can take in the beautiful panorama of the capital city. A complex network of chambers located below the pavilion is believed to have been used by the workers in Uggar Sain’s court. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
