Jatakari or Chaturbhuj Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated in the Ranthambore fort in Rajasthan, India. It was built in the 9th century by the Chauhan kings and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is also known as ‘Chaturbhuj’, meaning four-armed. Overview The Chaturbhuj Temple is a large, 10th-century temple that stands atop a tall hill in the Ranthambore fort. The temple is constructed in the Nagara style of architecture, with four tall towers that guard the entrance. It is built in a stepped pattern of stones and shares a common platform with two other temples in the fort – the Ganesh temple and the Badal Mahal temple. Prominent Features The Chaturbhuj Temple has ornately carved stone pillars and walls, with images of various Hindu gods and goddesses, as well as statues of Vishnu. The main deity in the temple is a four-armed statue of Lord Vishnu, which is believed to date back to the 10th century. The temple complex also contains a small shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna, as well as a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
