Overview:
The Baraduary Masjid or the Great Golden Mosque is the largest mosque in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Completed in 118-hijri, (1706 C.E.), this magnificent architectural wonder was started by Chhatrademi Shah, the then-ruler of Gaur-Banga. An imposing structure, the Mosque stands imposingly in the north-western corner of Dhaka in the Sultanate era neighborhood of Baraduar. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Baraduary Masjid or the Great Golden Mosque stands out for its beautiful architecture and many innovative features. Its prominent features include three domes, four minarets, and four towers. The floor is made of white marble, and the walls are adorned with traditional floral motifs, scroll works, inscriptions, and intricate plasterwork.
