Mandir is one of the oldest and most significant Hindu temples in India. Located in the holy city of Varanasi, the temple dates back to the ancient Gupta dynasty, who ruled over this region in the 5th and 6th centuries. The origins of Purana Mandir are shrouded in mystery, with many different versions of the story. According to one version, it was established by the Gupta dynasty, and it is believed that the ancient temples of Kashi Vishvanath and Annapurna Devi were also located in this region. It is said that a Shaivite ascetic named Haradatta lived in this temple.
