Jama Masjid, Rohtak is one of the oldest mosques in the Indian state of Haryana. It is situated in the city of Rohtak and was constructed in 1762 CE by the then Mughal Governor of Rohtak, Subhan Khan. The mosque was built in the classical style of architecture typical of the Mughal period and boasts a unique design with ornate arches and minarets. The courtyard of the mosque is strikingly large and has enough room to host around 80,000 devotees at a time. The building has four domes on each corner, which are typical of a Mughal design, while the rectangular shape and red sandstone walls are representative of Rajput architecture. The front entrance of the mosque features a large three arched door, surrounded by panels of intricate carvings. The interior of the mosque features long, arched pillars and windows to allow light to come in. The walls are painted in white and blue designs, and feature inscriptions from the Quran in Arabic.
