ji Mata temple is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in India that is associated with religious and mythical events from long ago. The temple is located in the Karauli district of Rajasthan. It is said to have been constructed about 5000 years ago and dates back to the Mahabharata period. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most striking feature of the temple is the fact that it is built entirely out of earth and has no structure as such. The temple is made up of two concentric circles. The outer circle is made up of earthen blocks and the inner circle contains a large mud idol of Hingloji Mata.
