Brief History:
is a mosque located in the city of Srinagar in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. This mosque was built in 1607 CE at the behest of the then governor of Kashmir, Mian Ghulam Shah Shahid. It is said that this mosque was built as a mark of respect and reverence to Mian Hakeem Shah who was a renowned Islamic scholar of Kashmir. This mosque is placed in the market areas of the old city of Srinagar and stands out due to its architecture which is in the Indo-Persian style. This old mosque is now a popular attraction of the city and is known for its beautiful prayer hall along with its two minarets. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
Hakeem Shah Sahib Masjid, located in Srinagar of India, is a stunning example of the Mughal architectural style. It was built in the 1600s and is a simple mosque with a single main chamber containing a richly decorated mihrab. The mosque is square in shape and has a large standing dome along with four smaller domes, each decorated with a set of brightly coloured tiles. The interior is decorated with intricate calligraphic carvings in Arabic. The entrance to Hakeem Shah Sahib Masjid is via a beautiful set of carved wooden doors and it also has a ornately decorated entrance gate adorned with verses from the Quran. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Regular buses and taxis are available from the airport and railway station to reach the mosque.
