Brief History:

is a famous Sufi shrine, located in the city of Bidar, Karnataka. It is dedicated to the Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Syed Hussain Shahwali and revered by people of all faiths. The shrine was built in the 15th century and is also known as the Ajmer Sharif of Karnataka. The entrance of the shrine is marked with two Minars (towers) and is decorated with beautiful Koranic verses. The main shrine is a large oblong structure, covered with intricate carvings and arabesque designs in stone. The main chamber houses the mausoleum of the saint, along with his time-worn scarf. The shrine also contains the tombs of many of his descendants and followers. Visitors to the shrine are expected to offer prayers and recite the Quran. They can also light candles and incense to pay homage to the saint. It is a place of pilgrimage for devotees of all faiths who come here to seek the saints blessings and inner peace. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.

Architecture:

The architecture of Dargah Hazrat Khwaja Syed Hussain Shahwali is characterized by two main elements, namely the outer and inner domes. The outer dome is octagonal in shape and consists of four openings. Inside the dome, there is a courtyard, which is also octagonal in shape and has four more openings. The courtyard is surrounded by four arches on each side, which are decorated with intricate designs. At the center of the courtyard is the main shrine, made of white marble. It is surrounded by four domes, which are topped by a series of cusped arches and covered with intricate designs and paintings. The inner walls of the shrine are decorated with Biblical verses, and the ceiling is adorned with wall paintings depicting scenes from the life of the saint. On the sides of the shrine are marble columns, which are topped with exquisite designs. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
