: Bari Masjid is a 17th-century mosque located in the heart of the old city of Bhopal, India. Built in 1671-72 by the then ruler of Bhopal, Sultan Dost Mohammad Khan, the masjid has two minarets standing at a height of 54 meters each. The structure stands in a huge courtyard which can seat 3000 people. The mosque, which is one of the largest in Bhopal, is a characteristic example of Mughal architecture, distinguished by its imposing height and decorative frescoes. On the inside, the mosque is adorned with marble inlay and intricate carvings on the walls. Other features include a kiosque, a grand staircase that leads to the terrace, and a central dome which is one of the most prominent features of the masjid. The Bari Masjid, located in the Bhopal City of India, is an historic mosque constructed between the 16th and 17th centuries by Afghan military commander Dost Mohammad Khan, who named the mosque after his mother. The exterior of the mosque is built in a rectangular plan measuring 73.7 m (241 ft) by 36.5 m (120 ft). It has four large doors on each side, its main entrance facing the north. The worship hall of the mosque is also rectangular, measuring 29.2 m (95 ft) by 28.9 m (94 ft). The roof of the mosque is flat, with eight arches enclosing its central courtyard. The courtyard features four smaller mihrabs indicating the direction of prayer, with two of them being adjacent to the entrance door. Inside the premises of the mosque, there are 52 domes, a minaret and a portico. The mosque is noted for its intricate architecture, with walls decorated with various motifs. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
