Brief History:

Badi Masjid is an ancient mosque located in the heart of Hyderabad, India. Built in 1672, it has been an important religious center for Muslims in the region for centuries. The mosque is known for its intricate designs, constructed of a combination of sandstone, black basalt and marble. The Badi Masjid in Hyderabad is a magnificent weathered cream-colored structure featuring a series of four domes, three arches, and four minarets. Built around the 16th century, the mosque also features ornamental stonework, intricate plasterwork, and vibrant frescoes of floral, geometric, and calligraphic designs. Located in Gowlipura, the Badi Masjid is the largest mosque in the city and one of the most important Islamic landmarks in South India. The mosque is believed to have been constructed by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi Dynasty. The architecture of the mosque is a combination of traditional Islamic forms with a strong blend of traditions from the region. The domes of the mosque are especially striking features, built in the traditional Persian style with an inner dome surrounded by four small hemispherical domes. The entrance to the mosque is marked by two large arches topped with semi-domes. Inside, the central courtyard is open and airy, surrounded by an arcade of pointed and round archways. The mosque also features beautiful wooden doors and carved stone walls. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
