Overview:
thic cists and cairns, Nandambakkam is a late Neolithic Archaeological site situated in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The site is located about 17 km from Chennai. The site consists of several megalithic burial structures such as cists, cairns, and possible remains of internal structures. The structures are built out of stone slabs and clods of earth. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The structures have several features like circular and rectangular constructional features. They have some basic arrangements of stones having central posthole and radiating slab circles. Some of these structures are covered by capstone, while others are laid out in regular postholes. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

One of the historical monuments of India,it tells the story of a bygone era.
The site is believed to be held by Neolithic groups of the Late Neolithic period. It is suggested that the site might have been in used by the Neolithic people for burial purposes.
