: Badi Masjid, also known as Chhoti Masjid, is an old mosque located in the old city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. This is one of the oldest mosques of the city which was built by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1660 AD. Badi Masjid is renowned for its majestic domes and the twin minarets, apart from the grand architecture of Islamic faith. This mosque was built during the reign of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb as a symbol of his long rule in this region. Today, Badi Masjid stands as a monument of Mughal architecture and remains an important part of the heritage of Bhubaneswar. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.

The Badi Masjid in Bhubaneswar is one of the oldest mosques in India. It was built in 1530 by Sultan Sulaiman Khan Karrani of Bengal. The mosque is made up of a single large quadrangle, surrounding a two-storeyed verandah. The facade is simple with a symmetrical arrangement of arches. Each side is bordered with tall terracotta piers and the edges of the roof are decorated with terracotta kalasa or finials. Inside, there are several arches with a slender minaret on each corner. The building has finely carved floral motifs and geometric designs on its walls. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
