Chandni Chowk Jama Masjid is a historical mosque that is located in the heart of the historic city of Delhi, India. Situated in one of Delhi's oldest and most populated areas, this grand old mosque dates back to the Mughal era and serves as a monumental reminder of the city's rich Mughal history and heritage. The mosque was completed in 1656 under the patronage of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and was designed by his daughter Jahanara Begum. It is the largest of all masjids built by the Mughals in India. , Chandni Chowk Jama Masjid is located in one of the oldest and busiest market in Delhi, India. The mosque has a red and white architecture with three domes and four minarets. The central dome is 56 feet in height and is made up of white stone and marble. It is flanked by two smaller domes which are made of red sandstone. The mosque is accessed through five grand gates. There are two minarets on both side at the entrance of the mosque, these are a total of four minarets. The interior of the mosque is decorated with exquisite calligraphic panels, paintings and large chandeliers. The flooring is also intricately designed in marble. The ceiling is ornately decorated with stencils and paintings. The exterior walls of the mosque are beautifully decorated with intricate stonework and marble inscriptions. There are seven pillared halls which face the central courtyard and each of these halls has a pulpit, for the preaching of the Quran. There is also a fountain in the centre of the courtyard which provides a calming atmosphere. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
