The Church of St. Mother of Freedom is one of the oldest churches in the city of Philadelphia. It was founded in 1704 as the first Roman Catholic mission in the English-speaking colonies of North America. It was constructed on a piece of ground donated by William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, and was the first Roman Catholic church built in the Pennsylvania colony.
