Brief History:
Fatullah Jame Mosque, Narayanganj In Bangladesh is considered to be one of the oldest mosques in Bangladesh. It is located in the city of Narayanganj- the industrial hub of Bangladesh. The mosque dates back to the 11th century and has been constructed and renovated many times. It was initially constructed by Sultan Suja who was a ruler of Bengal during the 11th century. The mosque was initially built as a single storey building in classical Islamic style however as time passed the mosque underwent extensive renovation work and an additional floor was added. The mosque showcases elegant examples of workmanship in terracotta but unfortunately many of these elegant designs have been destroyed or are in the process of being destroyed by vandalism. The mosque has an impressive dome and can be easily reached by public transport. During summer festivals, local people gather around the mosque in order to pray and seek blessings. The Jame Mosque is a heritage site of Bangladesh and serves as an important place of worship for the local community. Through renovations, it continues to remain an integral part of the city’s cultural and religious identity. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.

Fatullah Jame Mosque is located in the Fatullah district of Narayanganj, Bangladesh. It is a 17th century mosque and is one of the oldest mosques in Bangladesh. The mosque is located close to the banks of Meghna River. The closest airport to the Fatullah Jame Mosque is the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (formerly known as Zia International Airport), located in Dhaka, which is about 36 km away. You can also travel to the mosque by train as the Narayanganj Station is just 6 km away from the site. The most convenient and economical way to reach the mosque is by road. Buses from Dhaka can take you to the town of Fatullah, which is just 3 km away from the mosque.
