Brief History:
Baikari Jame Mosque is an ancient mosque located in Narayanganj district of Bangladesh. It was built by Amal Dada Bai, a wealthy philanthropist of the eighteenth century. The mosque has complex oriental architecture with two large rounded minarets as well as four smaller turrets.It consists of two domes, a marble reredos, eighteen stone plastered mihrabs, three crescent finials and minarets which bear inscriptions in Persian language. The large domes and four minarets are made of burnt bricks.The inner walls of the mosque are decorated with intricate wall paintings depicting scenes from the Quran and Hadith. This is one of the most important historical monuments of Narayanganj. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.
Architecture:
The architecture of Baikari Jame Mosque in Narayanganj, Bangladesh is an 11-domed mosque that follows the typical Mughal pattern. The exterior has a facade of alternating red and white stones, set in geometric, floral and calligraphic designs. The interior features intricate stucco panels and mirror work in floral and calligraphic designs, as well as colorful marble flooring with inlaid motifs. The central dome is the largest, standing 13.5 meters high. The other 10 domes around the mosque are progressively smaller in size, standing at 11 meters, 6.5 meters and 3.5 meters, respectively. Each dome is crowned with an ornate finial. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Baikari Jame Mosque is located in Matandighi in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. It is twenty five kilometers away from the city center of Dhaka. The closest bus station to the mosque is the Shibganj Ghat, which is seven kilometers away. From there, one can take an autorickshaw or a taxi to reach the mosque. Alternatively, there are regular bus services from Dhaka that stop at Matandighi, which is a fifteen minute walk away from the mosque. beautiful masjid.
