The mosque stands at a height of 27 feet and is the tallest mosque in Barisal. The building is octagonal in shape and is decorated with terracotta tiles and decorated with a Persian style of architecture. The mosque also has two minarets and a single dome on top. The architecture of the mosque is similar to that of other Mughal monuments in Bangladesh. It is believed to be the oldest Mughal monument in the country. The Baburhat Mosque is a 15th-century mosque located in Barisal, Bangladesh. It was built by the order of Sultan Alauddin Hussain Shah in 1490–91. It is believed to be the first mosque built in Barisal. The mosque is a single-domed structure made of brick and mortar. The mosque is decorated with beautiful terracotta designs of foliage, flowers, chariots, wrestlers, and geometric patterns. The main structure of the mosque measures 13 meters (43 ft) long and 9 meters (30 ft) wide, while the dome is 5 meters (16 ft) in diameter. The main entrance consists of a mihrab flanked by two pillars. The main prayer hall is divided into seven sections, with five mihrabs along its walls. There is a small cemetery located behind the mosque. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
