: The Shingair Jame Mosque is located in the Narinda area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The mosque was built in 1677 by Syed Khalil Ullah, a member of the ‘Sardar’ family during the Mughal epoch. The mosque is a royal-style structure with a giant dome and four minarets. The mosque was once used as a palace by the Mughal rulers and has been declared a national monument by the government. Architecture:

The Shingair Jame Mosque is a classic example of Islamic architecture in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has a four-aisled rectangular prayer hall aligned north-south, with an elevated platform and seven steps, and a dome over the central aisle. The prayer hall has aqvis (divided chambers) running along its four sides. These aqvis are constructed separately and are connected to the main prayer hall by means of passages, forming a series of interconnecting chambers. The interior is decorated with conventional Islamic floral designs and verses written from the Quran. The mosque has four minarets, three of which are still standing and one collapsed. The mosque also has four corner towers which were added in the 19th century and a pond in front of the mosque. The mosque is surrounded by a compound wall. The entire mosque is made of brick with a number of plastered and painted dome and walls. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
