The Bhuapur Jami Mosque is a 16th century mosque located in Bhuapur, Tangail, Bangladesh. It is an imposing example of Sultanate Islamic architecture in Bangladesh. Built-in the 16th century during the reign of Sultan Hussain Shah, the mosque is made from bihar bricks and features indigenous regional architectural elements such as curved cornices, five-arched entrances and mihrabs decorated with faience tiles. The main prayer hall is fully covered and the mosque has two smaller domes which also feature an oculus. The entire structure is topped with four bulbous domes. The qibla wall is also decorated with intricate terracotta tiles and motifs of animals and plants. The entrance gateways feature two octagonal Minar-like towers, which are decorated with geometric patterns and lotus scroll motifs. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
