Brief History:
Khanlar Mosque is a historic mosque located in the city of Ganja, Azerbaijan. The mosque was originally built in 1836 and was rebuilt in 1885. Khanlar Mosque was one of the first mosques to be built in the region after Ganja was annexed to the Russian Empire in 1804 during the Russo-Persian Wars. The mosque is a traditional Azerbaijani style mosque and is named after the original ruler of Ganja, Khanlar Khan. The mosque is famous throughout Azerbaijan for its intricate and detailed decoration. The interior of the mosque is decorated with ornate wall carvings and tiles with excerpts from the Quran. It is still used for daily prayers and is a popular tourist destination. It is one of the most famous mosque in Azerbaijan which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Khanlar Mosque in Azerbaijan is an example of a Dagestan-style mosque. It was built in 1863 during the rule of Sultan Muhammad Khan and named after him. The mosque is composed of a large central dome, with two small domes on either side of it, and four minarets topped with crescent-shaped decorative crowns. The entrance is marked by a large iwan (or entrance hall) with a large decorated doorway. The walls were once decorated with intricate patterns of plasterwork. Inside the main prayer hall, there is a fabulous plasterwork with geometric designs and verses from the Quran in Arabic. Due to its impressive size and magnificent architecture, the Khanlar Mosque is a popular place of worship for the local Azerbaijanis. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The visiting hours at Khanlar Mosque are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The mosque is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday. best mosque in the world.

Location: The Khanlar Mosque is located in the city of Khanlar, Azerbaijan. Getting There: The mosque can be accessed by car via highway E40. From Baku, the easiest route is to take SH5 to the Khanlar city centre then continue along the highway E40 to the mosque. The closest airport is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, located 25 km from the city centre of Khanlar. Opening Hours: The Khanlar Mosque is open from 9:00am to 9:00pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Sundays. Admission: Admission is free. beautiful masjid.
