History:

Schloss Hof is an 18th-century palace in Lower Austria, Austria. It is located in the town of Schlosshof and is considered one of the finest Baroque palaces in the country. The history of Schloss Hof dates back to the 13th century, when it was originally a medieval castle. During the 15th century, the castle was rebuilt in a Renaissance style and eventually passed into the hands of the Counts of Kuefstein. In 1683, the Counts of Liechtenstein purchased the property and transformed the castle into a luxurious Baroque residence. After it was purchased in 1743, Schloss Hof was completely renovated and designed with a combination of French and Austrian Baroque styles. Subsequent renovations further improved the palace in the 1760s and 1770s, during which time a large park and formal gardens were added.
