Sankt Wolfgang im Salzkammergut is a town located in Upper Austria, in the Salzkammergut area of Austria. It is set at the northern end of Lake Wolfgang and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Its history dates back to 1182 when it was founded by the Duke of Bavaria, Leopold V, who established the Augustinian Monastery of Sankt Wolfgang, from which the town derives its name.
