Old Cathedral, Linz is a historic Catholic church located in the city of Linz, Austria. It was built in the late 15th century on the site of a previous church that was destroyed in 1439. It is one of the most significant Romanesque churches in Upper Austria and it contains many important works of art. The church is also home to a large collection of antique furniture, decorations and frescoes. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

History:

Construction on the cathedral originally began in 1470 and it was completed in 1520. It underwent repairs and remodeling in 1655, after a fire damaged part of the interior. The Old Cathedral was declared a landmark in 1856 and it was lavishly restored in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.
